F1 Treatment for Wodonga Track
Posted on 09 May 2008

Preparations for the upcoming $5,000 Gold Rush - City of Wodonga Titles began this week with line marking at the Sheathers Road Track by the Australian F1 experts from Linemakers & Logos.

Linemakers & Logos are the official line markers for the Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne. For 5 years now, Manfred Walch and his team spend the week prior to the Grand Prix line marking the circuit at Albert Park, with a touch up on Saturday night to make sure everything is perfect for the main event.

The specialised line marking equipment uses a low pressure spray design combined with a grit dispensing unit to create the non-slip surface for Formula 1 requirements. The system developed by Linemakers & Logos has been fully approved by the VIC Roads testing laboratories. The paint used is surface neutral and does not deteriorate hotmix.

In comparison to the week spent at Albert Park, line marking at the Wodonga track only took Manfred four hours.

The $5,000 Gold Rush - City of Wodonga Titles on the 14th and 15th of June is shaping up to be the largest karting event held in the area since the 1996 Victorian Open Championship, with top drivers entered across all classes.
