Butcher Returns to Karts At Pucka

Bronson Butcher's first kart meeting on bitumen since the City of Wodonga Titles in June, saw a solid performance in Junior National Light at the last round of the Golden Power Series at Puckapunyal.

It's been a massive 4 months for the Holbrook driver which saw him race at the NSW Speedway Kart Club track at Nepean and win the NSW Speedway Championship, spend 5 weeks in the USA racing legends on asphalt speedways of Las Vegas and Los Angeles, renew the sponsorship deal with Kart Equip of Albury, and start planning for next year.

"We had to go up 2 seat sizes and get the new XE 28 set up, so we spent plenty of time testing before this weekend" Bronson said. "Getting used to turning right again wasn't too much of a problem!"

Race one Bronson started 2nd in the 31 car field and jumped to a handy lead which wasn't really challenged and finished that way. Race 2 he started 30th and made his way to 9th which gave him the 2nd starting position for the pre final on Sunday morning. "Although the kart wasn't particularly well hooked up, I enjoyed the racing and came home 3rd. We made changes for the final but it didn't give us anything to challenge Tyler Cramer with, and another kart put a cheap shot on us which cost me a few spots, so finishing 7th was a disappointing end. But it has been a great weekend to get back into the kart and we have a good base now for our preparations for the Vic. Open here next year."

Bronson would like to thank all his sponsors and supporters, including Kart Equip, HJM Race Engines, Rev Arena Karts, Churchill Transport, Back Straight Massage, Morgiana Beef, OGA Marketing, Jayfields Nursery, Kev Mullarvey, Doc Pearson and Cabonne Honey.
